"Greatest Generation" Life Lessons
This is a letter from Al Huntley, another friend from Trumbull. The letter was written in pencil and is so faded, the writing barely shows up on a copy. I will scan it so that you can see the United States Army Air Forces logo at the top of the stationary. The return address on the envelope is Sheppard Field in Texas. It was postmarked in Wichita Falls, Texas.
I wonder if this is the Al Huntley who became a History teacher and was at Trumbull High School when I went there?

Hi Janet, Thank you for the re-Blog. I hope you are enjoying these posts as much as I am, since I have not read ahead and am reading them week to week as I post them. Dave is so honest about how he is feeling and expresses those feelings to Grandpa freely. This is probably due to the fact that from the age of seven, Grandpa was both Mother and Father to Dave.
Hello Judy – nice to be back in touch. I enjoy your posts so much. My 3 siblings were about the same age as Dave and his brothers so I relate to the Guion experiences.
