DEAR DAD,

HOW IS YOUR HAREM?  BET THEY’RE A HAPPY BUNCH OF WAR WIVES NOW A-DAYS. IS THERE ANY NEWS ON WHETHER DAN AND LAD AND DICK ARE COMING OVER HERE TO HELP ME OR ARE THEY GOING HOME TO WORK OUT THE FINER THINGS IN LIFE? TELL THEM THAT EVERYTHING IS UNDER CONTROL OVER HERE AND THAT THEY’RE KID BROTHER IS BIG ENOUH NOW TO HOLD HIS OWN. THESE JAPS ARE HALF-PINT SIZE SO IF IT WON’T HURT THEIR FEELINGS YOU CAN TELL THEM THAT I’LL TAKE CARE OF THINGS OVER HERE.

YOU ARE RIGHT!!! I CAN USE THE NETTING. FOOD WILL NEVER BE WASTED – NO MATTER WHAT IT IS, EITHER. HOW ABOUT A METAL MIRROR?

  1. Janet – Thank you for the re-Blog. I enjoy Dave’s unique view of everything that he is seeing and doing. What an amazing adventure. Fortunately, he was trained as a clerk and therefore was not on the front line. Our family was quite blessed that all five of Grandpa’s boys had valuable skills the Army needed.
