A Well Traveled Postcard

Sewing in Japan

The year was 1911. The writer of this card was in Japan and sending it to his/her? friend in Northern Ireland. Will the card reach its destination via the Trans-Siberian Railway? I tend to think the writer is a woman. She is a tennis player and hasn’t played since she was in India. She is inquiring whether her friend in Ireland wants to be her doubles partner when she gets home in early July. This only makes sense if the month of writing is May – 10/5/11.. The writer is writing Mother. Is the writer a brother or sister. What do the letters J.C. _P.C. stand for? What is going to be bought? Questions!

What is your interpretation??

  1. I’m guessing JC is a person and PC is Post Card. 1911 is the year my mum was born. Neither of the world wars had happened. What a different world it was too.
