Where To Start

It has been a busy day. Tennis at Wimbledon – so exciting! And sad that Nadal has been injured and has withdrawn before his semi-final match. Alas. On to the men’s final on Sunday. Nick Kyrios vs ?. I can hardly wait. Then we have the women’s side of the draw. Fascinating tennis is being played. Unknown (to me) names are featured. Excellent tennis to watch. I am glued to our new TV (thank you again son Andrew).

The other NEWS – the resignation of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister. Where does his trail of deceit begin and where will it end? I am personally involved/invested in how Northern Ireland will be affected.

The Fourth of July 2022

The Fourth is over for another year. I did not feel very patriotic yesterday. I did not feel proud of my country. And then what happened – a senseless cruel shooting in Illinois. Oh no. What is happening to this country? There is so much wrong. I must search for “the good”. And there is much that is good about America. Let’s see it!! Does one just have to avoid the daily sensationalism of the media? Perhaps.

Books Read – June 2022

Few in number but long in pages compared with previous months. I feel as if I am binge reading – and loving it. Note that Gone With the Wind is in the list. This was a reread from 60 .years ago. All I could remember was Rhett Butler’s famous line at the end. What really struck me was how much in the book was relevant in understanding the current events of today.
