My dog and cat photos – these postcards weren’t exactly lost but I’m certainly glad I stumbled upon their hiding place – hiding in plain sight, as is often the case.

It was a day for going through boxes and boxes of postcards at the meeting of the Postcard Collectors Club. I found some nice cards to add to my collection.
For example – isn’t he a cutie?

The first Sunday of each month a meeting of the Pacific Northwest Postcard Collectors Club is held. In anticipation of the March meeting I am going to post some of my cards. I’m never quite sure what I am going to look for, nor what I am going to find, at each meeting. That’s part of the fun.Last month I got sort of carried away by Sheep. The seller has promised to bring more “sheep” cards this month. I am also going to be on the lookout for dogs and cats. And cards from places where I have lived and traveled.

There is no date on this postcard but the style is of the early 1900’s. I actually bought the card for the shepherd’s trusty looking big black dog. Also the gentle tones and colors are subtle and appealing.
I’m not really picking a favorite – that would be too hard. But the dog pictured, Grover, whom we had in Fiji certainly was memorable for many good reasons. A fiji hound! He was full of fun – we loved him and he loved us.
This beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback sat next to me at the Barking Dog Ale House here in Ballard. But, sadly, I overheard the waiter tell Mollie’s owners that from now on dogs will not be allowed to accompany their owners in the restaurant/pub. That is bad news, For me that’s half the reason for going there. Each time I have lunch there I usually see at least one or more interesting well behaved dogs.
Samoyede a British card but I can’t make out the postmark. It’s a British HaPenney Stamp.
