Slept until twelve. Had breakfast then went to american Express. Shopped in Galeries Lafayette but didn’t see much. Aux Trois Quartiers much better. Went to the Folies Bergeres – as good as she was expecting. Ate ice cream.

Day 8 of My Mother’s Trip to Europe – June 1934
Again the shuffleboard tournament – she lost. She went to the gym. Played a lot of ping pong. Danced only a little. She felt ready for excitement but not very ambitious. She had fun flirting with a deck sailor.
