St. Lucia Postcards

Coaling Steamer at Castries St. Lucia

Ecuelling Limes, St. Lucia

It’s not often that I find postcards from St. Luciia, a tiny island in the Caribbean where I spent 2 years of my early married life. Our three children were very small and it really was an idyllic life. I wonder about the first postcard – the caption says it’s a coaling steamer, but in my time those women would have been loading bananas.

And as for the second postcard, I wasn’t’ aware of limes grown in St. Lucia. In the early 1970’s it was definitely bananas.
